before You, we’re lost-
after is breathless wonder,
free of their bound cage
before You, we’re lost-
after is breathless wonder,
free of their bound cage
the string in your hand
pulled tight- trailing from a root
living in my heart
I like to
watch the rain
fall-
watching rain
fall
gives me
peace
Falling rain
reminds me-
what rises
to the sky
will someday
come back down-
down,
to the boring
poor
ground.
they chase and they chase,
following my footprints- i’m
prey… hunted to end.
in a world of Rose
this elongated pose, is
more Iris, than Rose
To be warm
is to be safe
But warmth is not a right-
warmth is a privilege
If you are cold
freezing and dying
you do not have the right
to build a fire
You have the right
to remain silent
So when the storm comes
and buries you deep
and you have no wealth
then
you will seep
And you will freeze
forever exercising
your right
of remaining silence
until your cold
bitter
end…
when the fire runs out-
and you end.
Penny,
you knew fighting
this losing battle
would be no stroll
on a calm beach.
And daughter,
now you know
that to challenge Goliath
when you are David,
when you have nothing,
…feel like nothing…
and you have no wealth,
no allies, no power-
that it’s like a penny
challenging a million bucks!
But you know, too
when everything is gone
…everything is lost…
and you lose…
and you’re lost…
like I lost…
…you still win.
Because you are one-
one in a million,
my Penny…
I am alone-
I suppose
I look alone
I seem alone
I sometimes feel alone
So I am alone-
in this world
But I am not alone
in the world
of imagination
Imagination makes me
forget
the sad reality
of our world
Imagination makes me
realize
the beautiful joy
of being alone.
